How can I purchase produce?
Good question! We're currently selling our produce at the Slippery Rock Farmer's Market. Check out our planned market days and come visit us!
Are you certified organic?
We are not certified organic, but our grow process and methods are all natural and you will never have to worry about ANY chemicals on the produce we sell. In order to be certified organic, the FDA has to be involved and their fees make FDA organic certification unfeasible for us at this time. However, we are looking to become Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) by next year. CNG is a grass roots alternative to the FDA's organic certification, but holds farmers to the same natural growing standards.
What is your grow process?
You've got some great questions! We strive to use only natural methods to grow our produce at Willow Brook Farms. We feed our family with the same food that we bring to market, so we care personally about what goes into our product. Check out specifics on the methods we utilize on our Grow Process page.
What produce do you grow?
It varies year by year, but we always have the staples: tomatoes of all kinds, peppers (sweet and HOT), strawberries, green beans, onions, lettuces, pumpkins and gourds. And then we like to throw in a few more exotic varieties like cinnamon basil and rainbow indian corn; all grown naturally and available to purchase at the Slippery Rock Farmer's market! For specifics on what we plan to bring to market each week, check out our market days schedule.
What forms of payment do you accept?
At the farmer's market, we're currently accepting cash, Venmo and are looking into options for credit cards as well.
